Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

Consumer right of return and refund

We hope that you love your piece of John Eadon Furniture as much as we do and appreciate the level of care attention, we give to all our pieces. However, if you would like to return any items for whatever reason, or your purchase was unsuitable, then we are happy to provide a full refund or exchange for goods still in their original packaging and in a fully re-saleable condition within 14 days of the delivery date. Once 14 days from the delivery date have elapsed then unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. Bespoke commissions and customised orders beyond their variant options do not fall under this policy and we cannot accept returns on orders of this type. We will try to respond within 48 hours to confirm your refund or discuss an exchange. If the item(s) are returned not in their original packaging, damaged, or 30 days past the original delivery date, then only a partial refund will be made. Any refunds or exchange values exclude the original delivery costs and any delivery costs made by returning the items.

For made to order items, customised items or bespoke items, there is no charge for cancellation or amendments to orders if notification is received in writing by email or post, within 7 days of the original order confirmation.

When commissioning a bespoke piece there is no obligation to continue with the order whilst in the initial enquiry stage. Once a design has been agreed in principal the time taken to produce further drawings will be billable in the event of an order cancellation prior to the point at which a deposit is made. Once the final design has been agreed and the client wishes to proceed, a non-refundable deposit will required to secure the slot in the workshop schedule. If the order is cancelled within 7 days of the invoice date then a partial refund will be awarded, minus any billable time already taken on the designing or making process of the commission. If the order is cancelled after 7 days from the invoice date then we cannot refund any of the deposit due to commitments made to material orders and time allocated or spent on the commission. The balance of the total invoice may be due in instalments as outlined in the agreement with the client. Once an instalment has been invoiced for, the total amount on that invoice is due and cannot be refunded in the event of a cancellation.

We only use high quality materials and timber and use wood which includes beautiful variations in grain, colour, knots, and other character markings. We hand select all material for its character, beauty and suitability of use and therefore do not accept returns or refunds based on natural variations in the materials we use.

Wood is natural material and will move across its dimension with changes in moisture content caused by seasonal and environmental changes in humidity and temperature. We work with timber that has been carefully regulated and dried to the appropriate moisture levels for its intended use and when subjected to reasonable humidity variations will only warp, shrink, expand, or crack very small amounts and to an acceptable degree in accordance to its end use. The design of the furniture is made to take these occurrences into account and allow them to happen within acceptable parameters and as part of the natural character and beauty of the material. Any excessive examples of movement will be down to extreme or inappropriate environmental or climatic conditions that the furniture item is subjected to and we cannot accept returns or refunds based on these scenarios.
