JOHN EADON is furniture designer and maker based in Warwickshire, creating high quality handcrafted furniture for residential and commercial interiors. Aiming to design and make unique products which push against the throwaway society and last for generations. All the pieces in the MIMA Collection are customisable and we can also take on bespoke commissions and help realise your unique projects.
JOHN EADON was raised on a farm and this relationship to the countryside and nature sparked an early connection to trees, woodland and working with wood. John then developed his creative side at Norwich School of Art & Design before finding work as a carpenter and developing woodworking skills further by teaching himself and learning on the job.
"Being self-taught has taken a lot of time and sacrifice but learning on the job has helped build a full skillset. This, along with my time at Art School and as a practising artist, are the important foundations to my work."
The design process can involve a variety of methods. Very quick prototyping and mock-ups are invaluable, where you can build in space and get a sense of utilising the light and the form.
Going from bench to book and drawing to mock-up, gradually resolving a design in a hands-on way gives the work a tangibility and closer relationship to the end user having been developed alongside a person.
We can design and make bespoke furniture and installations to commission. The MIMA Collection and TRELLIS Shelving can also be altered and customised to unique customer requirements, as well as bespoke or new components commissioned for specific projects.
If you have a bespoke project or unique piece of furniture in mind, then please get in touch. It starts with a conversation, as simple as that with no obligations, and then we can work out together what you need and discover the possibilities.
We try to keep environmental impact and sustainability a key steering factor by using responsibly sourced FSC timber from sustainably managed forests where more trees are planted than cut down.
By carefully selecting materials and creating lasting designs handcrafted to a high quality, we can help contribute to a more sustainable future and intelligent use of resources.
